For the largest, oldest, and most prestigious MBA case competition in the world
On behalf of the 2024 organizing team, I am pleased to announce that the case writing competition for the 42nd edition of the John Molson MBA International Case Competition (ICC) is now in session! We invite you to submit your original business cases. Up to six cases will be selected for use during the competition. Click here for complete details.
Case Requirements
Submitted cases should be geared towards MBA students and must be:
Unpublished, untested, and not previously presented or discussed in any public forum. Confidentiality is of the utmost importance, and writers must strictly adhere to this requirement.
A maximum of 20 pages of narrative (double-spaced and limited to 250 words per page) and no more than 30 pages in total, including financial documentation and other appendices (case text is not permitted in appendices). Teaching notes are not required.
Welcome submissions from diverse business disciplines, including strategy, finance, sustainability, entrepreneurship, e-commerce, international trade, organizational behavior, governance, marketing, and emerging technologies.
Based on either field research or research from secondary sources describing a recent business situation in an actual organization.
Written in English or French. Cases submitted in French and selected for the competition will be translated into English and remitted to case writers after the competition.
Submitted with a completed entry form, and if the case is based on field research, a statement of authorization (or release form) from the company is required.
Submitted electronically (.doc or .docx and .xls or .xlsx for financial documentation) to cases@mbacasecomp.com.
Writers providing financial exhibits must ensure that their .xls or .xlsx files are useable and editable.
In light of the current circumstances due to COVID-19, on behalf of the MBA International Case Competition Committee (MBA ICC), we wish to inform you that the 40th edition of the John Molson School of Business' MBA ICC, originally scheduled for January 4-8, 2021, has been postponed to January 3-7, 2022.
This decision was made after multiple rounds of careful deliberation and, though unfortunate, the postponement gives us the opportunity to revamp the infrastructure of the competition for 2022 and for the years to come. This competition has thrived thanks to your continuous contribution and presence over the years and we are eager to work with you to make our 40th anniversary a grand success.
We shall be reaching out to you soon with pertinent information on how you can be a part of the 40th edition. Once again, we thank you for your continued support for the MBA ICC, and rest assured, we are doing our best to create a seamless and updated MBA ICC experience.
See you in 2022!
Best Regards,
Katherine Crewe
