Organizing the International Case Competition each year involves a team of highly dedicated individuals. The team is made up of MBA candidates from the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada.  These roles are part of an experiential learning course awarding 6 credits to JMSB MBA students.

Organizer, Judges, Cases, and Event

The Organizer for Judges, Cases, and Events at the John Molson MBA International Case Competition (JMSB ICC) plays a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the prestige of the ICC.

This position involves overseeing the recruitment of judges, selecting competition cases, and organizing events during the competition week.

Organizer, Logistics, Budget, and Technology 

This organizer is focused on coordinating logistics, managing budgets, and overseeing technology-related aspects to ensure the smooth execution of the event.

The ideal candidate for this role will have strong project management skills, budgeting experience, and proficiency in handling technology platforms.

Organizer, Marketing

This role requires an individual with proactive qualities, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively. The primary objective is to conceive, develop, and execute a comprehensive marketing and communications plan throughout the year.

This team member plays a pivotal role in maintaining regular communication with every member of the organizing committee, anticipating needs, and aligning with communication requirements.

Organizer, Schools, Volunteers, and Sustainability

This role is pivotal in recruiting participating schools, managing volunteers, and ensuring the event’s sustainability initiatives are effectively implemented.

This organizer will be involved in regular board meetings that will provide opportunities for progress reporting, with input and coaching from the Academic Advisor.

Organizer, Sponsorship 

The Sponsorship Organizer is tasked with raising the funds necessary to execute the John Molson MBA International Case Competition (ICC). The competition’s scale and reputation demand a substantial budget, making sponsorship acquisition paramount.

This role involves engaging with various stakeholders, including prominent companies in Montreal, to demonstrate the value of supporting this esteemed competition.

Executive Assistants

Supporting the Organizers is a team of executive assistants. MBA candidates from the John Molson School of Business, involved in roles directly related to those on the organizing team. These executives are part of an experiential learning course awarding 3 credits to JMSB MBA students.

Executive Assistant, Financial and Accounting Control

This executive is responsible for managing expenses, university registration fees, and incoming sponsorship funds for the John Molson MBA International Case Competition (ICC). This role entails close collaboration with the organizing team, understanding expense requirements, and maintaining accurate records in the Unity System alongside the Logistics, Budget & Technology Organizer.

The Executive Assistant ensures expenses align with university policies and event requirements, facilitating seamless coordination with relevant departments and teams.

Executive Assistant, Judges

This executive is responsible for overseeing the recruitment of judges for
the upcoming International Case Competition and managing all communications with selected judges.

This role plays a crucial part in maintaining and improving the standing of the JMSB ICC as the best International Case Competition in the world.

Executive Assistant, Logistics

This executive plays a key role in ensuring the event runs
smoothly. They are in charge of planning and overseeing all the logistical details, from scheduling to coordinating with the hotel and managing resources. They act as the main contact for solving any issues that come up and work closely with the Organizing Team to make sure everything goes as planned.

Executive Assistant,  Volunteers 

The Executive Assistant for Volunteers is responsible for volunteer recruitment, communication strategy development, training session planning, volunteer scheduling, and coordination. This role demands clear communication, effective coordination, smart scheduling, and creative leadership.
